ADNOC & its Group of Companies Make their Presence Felt at OTC 2013

Houston, Texas (13 May 2013): The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) & its Group of Companies had made their presence felt once again at the Offshore Technology Conference and Exhibition (OTC 2013), which was held in Houston, Texas (USA) from 6-9 May 2013.
The company participated for the third consecutive year in this foremost global event with a high level delegation comprising CEOs and senior executives.
The delegation, led by Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan, Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) took part in the conference and other sideline events. The Group also had a strong presence in the exhibition with a state-of-the-art stand that was designed to showcase ADNOC’s new vision of the future and depict UAE’s culture and heritage.
Under the theme “Together we shape the future”, ADNOC & its Group of Companies showcased their full line of business and services to provide details of their current and future projects, highlighting through interactive audio-visual displays their environmentally-friendly initiatives as well as their long–term expansion projects.
On the eve of the event, ADNOC delegation attended a dinner hosted by US-UAE Business Council in honor of visiting senior Emirati delegations.
In a well-received presentation, Mr. Ali Al-Jarwan spoke about oil and gas sector in Abu Dhabi, giving insight into the future outlook of the industry. Throughout his presentation, Mr. Al-Jarwan pointed to the UAE’s plans to increase its oil production in the near-term from the current 2.6 million barrels per day (bpd) to 3.5 million bpd to ensure the stability of the global market and cope with increasing demand from around the world. Noting the significance of the oil and gas industry to Abu Dhabi’s economy, Mr. Al-Jarwan acknowledged that active progress was being made towards Abu Dhabi’s Vision 2030 economic development plan to diversify the emirate’s economy apart from oil and gas revenue. He also highlighted ADNOC and its subsidiaries’ continued interest in exploring corporate partnership and investment opportunities, encouraging American industry executives to connect with ADNOC delegates during OTC 2013 and discuss ways to share technologies vital to the growth of the oil and gas sector.
He also highlighted ADNOC’s efforts in the fields of technology, sustainability, CSR, and the environment. He pointed to the challenges faced with regards to recruitment of skilled professionals.
On the sidelines of the OTC 2013, Arafat Al Yafei, Manager of Carbon Dioxide/Nitrogen Development Section at ADNOC Exploration & Production Directorate also gave an interesting presentation on ADNOC’s Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) projects.
ADNOC delegates also attended during the event a business breakfast hosted by the Houston-Abu Dhabi Sister City Association in the presence of several members of Houston’s business community as well as government officials. Mr. Talal Al Kaissi, Chief of Staff & Advisor to the UAE Embassy Commercial Counselor in Washington DC delivered a presentation on the bilateral US – UAE Trade Relations focusing on the opportunities for US companies in the UAE.
ADNOC also hosted a dinner attended by around 90 senior executives from the Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce (BUSACC) and ADNOC business partners where ways of strengthening business relationships were discussed.
Meanwhile, ADNOC delegation, led by Mr. Ali Al-Jarwan visited shareholders offices in the US where they exchanged their views with shareholders’ representatives, emphasizing on knowledge transfer, technology etc…
PR executives in ADNOC & its Group of Companies availed of the opportunity to share with their counterparts’ expertise and knowledge in such areas as media, CSR, crisis management, social media and HSE.
Record visitor turnout
Breaking the visitor turnout record, ADNOC stand attracted an estimated 30,000 visitors during the four days of the event. The design of the stand, coupled with the hospitality offered turned the booth into a welcoming place for exhibition visitors who included American, Arab and foreign delegates, dignitaries, senior executives and industry professionals. Among the key Arab figures who visited the stand was Libyan Minister of Oil & Gas, HE Dr. Abdulbari Ali Arousi.
One of the main attractions at the OTC Exhibition was ADNOC’s booth in the Recruiting Now Pavilion which welcomed scores of skilled professionals. More than 1500 job applications were received from job aspirants during the four-day event.
Commenting after the event, Mr. Al-Jarwan said the OTC is considered an ideal platform for ADNOC to keep abreast with the latest advancements in technology and innovative solutions.
