Business Council for International Understanding Hosts UAE Consul General Majid Al-Suwaidi in Business Roundtable

NEW YORK – March 31, 2017 – This week, His Excellency Majid Al-Suwaidi, United Arab Emirates Consul General in New York, spoke to business and government leaders about the UAE-US bilateral relationship and opportunities for investment during a roundtable discussion hosted by the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU).

During the discussion, Consul General Al-Suwaidi provided details on the UAE’s trade relationship with the US and focused on industry areas including finance, technology and renewable energy.

“Last year, the US enjoyed a $19 billion trade surplus with the UAE,” Consul General Al-Suwaidi said. “According to the Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the UAE remains the US’ top export destination for the entire Middle East and North Africa region.”
