Los Angeles – May 12, 2017 – The United Arab Emirates Consulate in Los Angeles donated many items such as TVs, computers, games, and sport equipment to King Fahad Mosque’s Muslim Youth Symposium of America (MYSA). MYSA’s new center is open to the local community welcoming all faiths and backgrounds as a safe place after school while promoting mutual dialogue and understanding between Muslims and other faiths.
“The UAE is ranked as the world’s top aid donor for the third consecutive year per capita,” His Excellency Abdulla Alsaboosi, Consul General of the UAE in Los Angeles said. “I’m happy my country is supporting the local Los Angeles community, my second home, and promotes our shared UAE-US interest and values.”
The donation supports the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian efforts in the city and aligns with the country’s 2017 Year of Giving, declared by the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This remarkable initiative truly reflects the Emirati spirit of philanthropy that has been laid by the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace. The Consulate General in Los Angeles continues to support the Year of Giving initiative through various philanthropic work. Future activities will coincide with the Year of Giving initiative.
