Visa Requirements for US Diplomats and Officials

To apply for a visa for a temporary duty trip (TDY), please submit the following items to your designated passport agent:

  1. A fully completed scanned application form with an attached photo. (use the US Embassy or Consulate address and phone number of your contact as a sponsor)
  2. A Color square Photo with a white background in High quality and resolution - Photo Examples
  3. A scanned color copy of the signed passport (should not expire within six (6) months from the expected date of arrival to UAE).
  4. State Department Cover Letter that includes information about the trip, the traveler, and the expected departure date.

To apply for a visa for an assigned duty trip (PCS), please submit the following additional items to your designated passport agent:

  1. Copy of selected portions of the PCS Order detailing your destination, assignment, and accompanying individuals.
  2. A copy of the Marriage Certificate if your spouse is applying with you and is mentioned in the PCS order.
  3. A copy of Birth Certificates if your children are applying with you and are mentioned in the PCS order)
  4. A copy of your work permit in UAE, if the spouse or the children are applying by themselves and are Mentioned in the PCS order)

Notes:

  1. Please send all visa requests through your designated passport agent because our email is not for receiving visa requests from individuals. It functions as a communication channel with the designated passport agents who manage visas for government diplomats and officials.
  2. All application forms must be typed
  3. The applicant must be physically present in the United States throughout the visa application process.
  4. All attachments must be scanned (Not taken by phone) in JPEG format, each measured in kilobytes. 
  5. Crop the photo around the head and the passport edges, then resize them between a minimum of 600 x 600 pixels and a maximum of 1200 x 1200 pixels
  6. The electronic visa is a multiple-entry visa valid for five years, allowing a maximum stay of 180 days for each entry (there is no visa sticker).
  7. If you change your passport to the same type, please carry the old passport containing a valid visa along with the new passport. There is no need to apply for a new visa.
  8. All visa applications require prior approval from the UAE authorities, so the process will take approximately 3 working days.
  9. To ensure your application is considered timely, all agents are encouraged to submit their requests by 1:00 PM.
