WASHINGTON, DC (15 January 2009) – His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and United States Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice today signed a bilateral agreement for peaceful nuclear cooperation that enhances international standards of nuclear non-proliferation, safety and security.

The UAE helps friends and neighbors when disaster strikes. Its global foreign aid and development budget totals $15 billion annually, with donations and in-kind support made directly to governments, as well as through organizations such as the Red Crescent.

The US-UAE Business Council, created in 2007, demonstrates how business-to-business initiatives drive the expanding commercial relationship between the UAE and the United States. The Council is a collaboration of leading companies based in the United States and United Arab Emirates, committed to expanding bi-lateral commercial opportunities between the two countries.

A study in the UAE shows that 60 percent of women over the age of 50 may develop breast cancer. The number of deaths caused by breast cancer has been rising dramatically, with doctors saying that diagnostic techniques have not improved significantly and that many women are too shy or uneducated to seek medical care.
