NEW YORK – January 6, 2017 – The United Arab Emirates Consulate in New York donated dozens of new winter coats to children in need through the Department of Homeless Services, an agency committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City.

(LOS ANGELES, CA – November 24, 2016)  – For the first time, the UAE Consulate in Los Angeles was the presenting sponsor of the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot distance run; attracting more than 5,000 runners. A popular community event, the race reflects the diversity of Los Angeles, drawing participants of all backgrounds and athletic abilities.

UAE embassies and diplomatic mission in various parts of the world celebrate the 45th National Day anniversary by hosting receptions and other cultural and heritage events to highlight the progress achieved by the UAE during the past 45 years.

The US-UAE Business Council hosted His Excellency Majid Al-Suwaidi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates in New York, for a private, closed-door luncheon and discussion.

NEW YORK – October 17, 2016 –​ Majid Al-Suwaidi, Consul-General of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in New York, has participated in a series of meetings with local government officials and business leaders in Harrisburg, State of Pennsylvania, to promote the UAE’s economic interests and identify areas of joint co-operation.

The UAE opened a Consulate General in Boston, Massachusetts – its third in the United States. Salem Alshamsi will serve as Consul General.

NEW YORK – October 7, 2016 – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Consul General in New York, Majid Al-Suwaidi, met with key government and business leaders, as well as local students, to increase UAE-US ties in Hartford, Connecticut.

New York – September 22, 2016 – The United Arab Emirates opened the UAE Consulate in New York City and appointed His Excellency Majid Al-Suwaidi as Consul General.

Emirati FDI in the US grew from $16,699 million in 2011 to $27,480 million in 2015. The top industries in the US for Emirati FDI are financial services, transportation, fossil fuels, communications, and aerospace.

Abu Dhabi-based Masdar Institute of Science and Technology collaborated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to develop a low-cost solar conversion system that generates steam from sunlight. With this scientific innovation, technologies that rely on steam – including seawater desalination, wastewater treatment, and power generation – will be more efficient and affordable.
