LOS ANGELES, CA (9 March 2015) – In the first ever official visit to Hawaii by a United Arab Emirates (UAE) diplomat, Consul General Abdulla Alsaboosi traveled to Honolulu to meet with local government officials and business leaders, and highlight deepening ties between the state and the UAE.
In their first competition outside of the UAE, 48 Emirati jiu-jitsu players between the ages of 10 and 16 represented their country at the American National Kids Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which took place in Long Beach, California. The Emirati team finished fourth overall, taking home 15 gold, 17 silver and 13 bronze medals.
