We hosted some amazing students and new friends from John Eaton Elementary School DC last week, sharing with us what they learned about the United Arab Emirates, through our participation with D.C. Public Schools' "Embassy Adoption Program". Dana Al Marashi, Head of Heritage & Social Affairs Department at the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC visited John Eaton students over several months discussing #UAE's culture, history, heritage and its modern developments. The United Arab Emirates Federal National Council’s official mandate is to provide for public debate of legislation. During the third annual Sheikha Fatima Lectureship: "A Shared Global Vision for Women and Peacebuilding”, United Arab Emirates Minister of State Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimy United States Institute of Peace President Nancy Lindborg and Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security Executive Director Ambassador Melanne Verveer discussed advacing the role of women in all societies, as part of USIP’s focus on building the role of women in the peaceful resolution of conflicts worldwide.
