On September 29th, senior diplomats welcomed a group of foreign policy bloggers to the Embassy for a presentation on the history and growth of the United Arab Emirates. The bloggers, in Washington as part of an educational program organized by the Middle East Institute, engaged with their hosts in an informal discussion of UAE policy and other matters of mutual interest.

A delegation of senior Emirati women visited Washington, DC to meet with their US counterparts in government, business and think tanks, in order to exchange views on the role of women around the world and highlight the important role women hold in UAE society.

A team from the UAE Embassy's media section visited Beech Tree Elementary School on November 24th, 2009. The visit is part of the “Kids Informative Program” designed to introduce elementary school students in Fairfax County, Virginia to the UAE. The program uses the work of UAE Cartoonist “Freej” as an entertaining and informative tool to educate students about UAE culture.

A group of students from Montgomery College visited the Embassy on December 3rd, 2009.  The visit was part of the continuous efforts of the media section to reach out to the educational community in Virginia, DC, and Maryland.  Ms.

A delegation consisting of 19 professional MBA participants from the GWU Business School, led by Professor Salah Hassan, Chairman of the Marketing Department, visited the UAE Embassy on December 4th, 2009. The visit was part of the pre-travel program for GW Business School’s upcoming third international business residency visit to the UAE in January 2010.

On March 17th, 2010, the UAE Embassy Media section hosted officials and members of the National Newspaper Association (NNA) to honor the start of the organization’s 49th Annual Government Affairs Conference.  The conference brought together editors and reporters of local newspapers from across the United States.

HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs hosted a reception at the Guggenheim Museum in New York to honor the 65th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

April 20, 2011 - UAE Embassy, Washington, DC – The Political Department held a briefing for interns from the National Defense University. The interns, representing universities from across the US, including the NDU’s Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, received an overview on the history of the UAE in addition to an open discussion with embassy representatives.

April 21, 2011 - UAE Embassy, Washington, DC – The Political Department hosted a luncheon for a group of 100 students from the US Naval Academy. Dr. Alsaghira Alahbabi, Senior Political Officer, led the event  with a video and presentation on the UAE, highlighting the fundamental roots, the formation, and Emirati values.
